It seems to be a common issue that only the stealer can fix, but does anyone have an idea how to reset the airbag light on a 03 Impreza. I have tried taking the battery off for 10 minutes, but that did not work. Any help appreciated.

usually on cars there can be a signal that you can do by plugging a wire or two into your diagnostics port, and the tapping on the +ve of the battery.

Is there no info on the scooby forums?

Not found anyting yet. Did some seaches on google, and for the classic shape it's and easy fix, just take the battery off for a bit, no info on my shape. Taking it into my local garage tomorrow, he said it should be straight forward.

Its usually just a case of a code being put into the diagnostics port to turn the warning light off.
Air-bags have a 10-year guarantee period (i think), and the service light comes on after that 10 year period. Its just to let the guys doing the major servicing know that the air-bag and its casing should be given a once-over to check if all is ok and nothing is deteriorating.
Once this is done they simply plug in the diagnostics computer and send the code in to dissable the light.
You will probably find that the light will periodically come back on after a certain amount of miles/time.
