Considering this cheap Celica

Hopefully this link works! Any Celica boffins able to advise me on this car - I am tempted to buy it, however I am wondering how big an issue the renewal of said bearings would be. Am I right in assuming it is a case of renewing the wheel bearings? And if so is this a costly thing to do? The car looks clean and for this money I am very tempted!

I had one just like that. It was pretty nice to run around it, if a little plastic.

Bearings I have no experience with on a ST182 I'm afraid. If it needs all 4 and you can't do them yourself I'd suggest it could get expensive.

Assuming the bearings can be changed in situ, you should only be looking at paying 250-300 max to have them changed.

If the crank is buggered, then it would make it uneconomical.

Personally I'd leave it and spend a few hundred quid more on a running car.

Yes, I read it as crankshaft not wheel bearings.

So could be, worst case, new engine?

Advise taken, thanks guys - decided not to bother as I didn't realise it wasn't just a case of Wheel Bearings!

Good luck . . . I think it's as great looking car and there are good cherished ones out there for sensible money.
