200sx problem - help!!

Last week my S14a stopped running - at first I thought it was bad petrol, as it felt like it was running on and off 3 pots, running terrible. This was a 3 mile journey home, and it wouldn't start the next day (was sparking ok).
It's now been in the garage a week, had a new fuel pump on it (the old one was clogged up with sludge/filings), put a new lambda sensor on too and it's now only just running, with masses of black smoke.
The only other thing we can think of is the EGR valve - first, can anyone tell me whereabouts this is located, and also if this doesn't sort it what on earth else it could be?
Many many thanks

Good luck!
PS Where abouts are you? I do hope you're not letting some monkey who's used to Micras have a bash at your car.

Are you sure you've not got a massive air leak - that will make it overfuel like a bIt's now been in the garage a week, had a new fuel pump on it (the old one was clogged up with sludge/filings), put a new lambda sensor on too and it's now only just running, with masses of black smoke.

h - Check the Wing mount intercooler for cracks and the other boost piping to make sure nothings popped off. Fuel pumps usually go at around 60-80k miles - they usually fail suddenly with no wanrning, but it they do sometimes cause bad running before going pop.
Also check the coilpacks - one out will make it sound like a scooby.
S14a's don't have an EGR (I think) its one of the differences between an S14/and S14a
If you have been running badly for a while disconnect the battery overnight to reset the ECU just in case its self learnt to overfuel. Clean the AFM although that usually causes it to run lean not rich, but its good maintenance anyway.
Have you checked your plugs just in case the failing fuel pump has caused it to run lean and damage Pistons/valves or plugs. poss do a compression test if the plugs are shagged. If the plugs are ok and just dirty black then it points to overfueling and the most common cause is a massive air leak.
and get over to SXOC - we will sort you out better than here.
