GTR (R35) service costs - have Nissan lost the plot

So the eagerly awaited GTR R35 or mini-Veyron as some are calling it. So what is the car really about, its about giant killing, myth busting and all those other heart lifting cliches that the GTR really does smash to smithereens. High spec 3 series money for a super car that can be driven every day.
BUT - Nissan commercial division smoked too much crack when they came to price service for the car AND decreed that there must be a performance optimization inspection IN ADDITION to TWO services per year. What were they thinking when they came up with pricing that in year 1 equates to nearly £1k plus VAT and keeps climbing in year 2 AND £3k plus VAT for brakes (disks and pads).
I have a car being delivered on Sept 3rd (with Sat Nav hence the delay) and will be thrashing it for a few thousand miles and then getting out of it. What a shame that Nissan are being so greedy that they are multiples of what it costs to maintain a Porsche 997 Turbo.
Ridiculous and massively disappointing - they have alienated a real fan of the car.
Noone likes to feel ripped off...

Spoke to Iain Litchfield, Litchfield Imports this afternoon regarding their plans for servicing for the GT-R. Litchfield had the first GT-R in the UK so they've got more experience of running a GT-R than probably anyone. He emailed me their estimated servicing costs (below) which he is hoping to finalise shortly (although he doesn't expect much to change). They are currently looking at a number of options for the Gearbox oil so have not finalised the 18,000mile+ servicing costs just yet. Note that the costs assume that the car does no trackdays (presumably as they'd make other routine checks if it has which may add additional cost - seems fair to me).
6000 Mile Service:
Labour: 1 hour @ £47.50
Oil Filter: £8.26
Mobil 1 Engine Oil 0W - 40 Fully Synthetic: 5 litres = £53.75
Drain Washer: £1.26
Screen Wash: £0.99
Total inc VAT £128.52
12000 Mile Service:
Labour: 1.6 hours @ £47.50 = £76
Laser Alignment Labour: £60
Oil Filter: £8.26
Pollen Filter: £43.90
Mobil 1 Engine Oil 0W - 40 Fully Synthetic: 5 litres = £53.75
Drain Washer: £1.26

As the EU stated you can get the car serviced anywhere as long as OEM parts are used...
