First project suzuki swift

Hi guys,

I have a 1.1 suzuki swift and i want to drop a 1.3 GTi engine in place of the 1.1 can somebody please help me by list all the parts i will need to do this conversion and will it be relativaly easy for a mechanic.I am going to fit an exhaust box either magnex or scorpion( thoughts please), Lower the car on koni springs, and new rims fox racing FX1 16" and tint the rear lights black and thats it for the monent let me know any thoughts or advice.

Another vote for the GTi route, engine swaps are all well and good if it's an interesting and worthwhile swap, like a Cosworth engine into a MK1 escort or similar, but when that engine already exists in a nigh-on identical car then it's a pointless exercise and you'll save money by simply selling up and getting the GTi, not to mention finding insurance for a standard car will be easier.

You'll not only need to uprate the suspension, but you'll be running a quicker engine on your poverty-spec brakes which will need fettling and your gear ratios will probably be out, so you'll need the gearbox too.

Now, had you said you were thinking of gutting the interior and fitting the engine from a Hayabusa then it might be interesting...

How about finding a 1.6GLXi its a 16v 4WD version! I used to have one, great little car,unusual and cheap if you can find one. Might be cheaper to insure as its a 4DR saloon (or sedan)

I bought a GTI brand new in 1989 and the build was pretty poor then.
Surprised they are still around. Good cars though, I remember sticking a Janspeed exhaust on and it was faster than my mates brand new Nova GTE at the time, and only a 1.3.
For real fun try a Diahatsu charade GTti, there even better.
