Which jap coupé?

Looking to get myself something nice at the end of the year... Not really driven many cars but am attracted to Jap cars mainly because of their reliabilty, and they seem to be quite cheap to run for the performance they return...

What would you go for out of these? (Budget would be 6k AT A PUSH)

• Celica 190 + Looks good, affordable, good performance/running cost ratio - Front wheel drive
• DC2 ITR + Supposedly brilliant handling, a bit raw - Getting on a bit now
• MK3 MR2 + RWD, Looks good - Impractical
• Mitsubishi FTO Mivec + Good looks, V6 engine! - Getting on a bit now, running costs?

Don't really like the look of scoobies, evo's etc, (And it'd be my first year of NCB!) and I think they'd cost too much to run for me, I think I'm best sticking to something N/A

I really do like the Celica but I feel like I'd be missing out not having RWD, or an ITR... Help!

RX8. Fantastic chassis and RWD with LSD, and practical. A bit thirsty - but worth it.

Bit too expensive I think, plus my drive to work is 4.7 miles so I'd be scared of knackering it

I know, but it makes sense considering that I'm mainly looking at coupes

Celica or ITR IMO. Both very nice cars. Celica will be a touch more comfy.

Toyota MR2, in N/A or turbo flavours. Yours for £1500-4500 depending on year and whether it makes 173bhp or 250bhp. Best ones were made after 1994.

Those MR2s are great driver's cars. It is like driving a heavy Elise... forwards.
