Classic Impreza STi Wagon vs 4 Door
Discussion
I started a thread a few days back asking some questions about Newage STis. Having thought in some more detail I'd prefer to outlay a bit less cash so have started looking at imported Classic STis.
I'd ideally like a Wagon rather than a 2 or 4 door and am looking at V4 STi to accommodate my price range. However I've found that, as standard, the wagons only have 240 PS against 280 for the 4 door. The engines, however, appear identical in spec. Does anyone know if there are inherent differences between the engines in the 4 and 5 door cars or is it simply a lower state of tune in the 5 door?
To lead on from that, if it is the same spec engine in the wagon in a lower state of tune can I assume that if I were to do the appropriate mods (turbo back decat exhaust, panel filter, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, colder rated plugs) and then intstall an Apexi Power FC and get it mapped I'd end up with the same final power output and the same level of reliability?
Hope someone can help!
