mitusbishi pajero air con problem

Can any one help. I have a mitsi pajero 1992 2.5 td. Air con not working (blower fans not very strong either). We have checked operation of the compressor coil - OK - wire linked direct to battery. We have traced wire from compressor coil to the relay. Relay coil is not energising. Does anyone know hoe to trace the AC unit?
