hello every one i have been looking at getting a legacy for a while now and thought i would come on here and see if i can find out a bit about them like what they like to run can they be tuned up and which one to go for because there is on by me that is a r plate 80thou on the clock man and its a gt for 3 thousand is this the top one or which is the one to go for thanks

its a r reg so 1998/1999

That'll be a 3rd gen Legacy then, similar to mine. They go well (280bhp for manual, 260 for auto) but if you want to modify for big power you're better starting off with a single turbo Subaru as the sequential twin system is quite complex.

I average around 27mpg from my 2002 GTB, 30-33 is easy to achieve on longer trips. They will guzzle it down like anything else with that power if you hoof it everywhere.

They're generally very reliable unless badly modified or run hard on poor quality fuel (they like 98 rather than 95), not the cheapest things to fix if anything does go wrong though.
