Impreza WRX differences

Can anyone tell me the differences between the early Impreza turbos (92-95 UK & Jap versions).
What are the difference in specifications & performance on the 4WD turbo, WRX & WRX STi and how do i tell if im buying a genuine WRX or STi?
Also, what is the best owners club to join as ive googled 'impreza owners club' and it comes up with quite a few options.

I used to post on an owners forum called scoobycity I think they are / were based around east anglia. They are a friendly knowledgeable bunch, even if you aren't from that area they're worth a look IMO
