Evo X SST or manual?

Hey guys,

I am looking to buy an 08 plate Evo X GSR soon and was wondering what your thoughts were on the gearbox. For me, manual is the way to go but I have heard some very good things about the SST gearbox and flappy paddles. I have driven the SST (booked in to drive the manual next week to compare) and although it seemed a good box i don't know if it is just the fact I am not used to it that makes me think the manual would be a better option.

So which do you think is the better option?

If you're planning to up the power from standard I believe the SST box is quite limiting.

Manual all the way for me. I can't be doing with paddle shift autos. They can't cope with J turns / handbrake abouts etc particularly well IMO.

Depends on your intended use...purely road / commuting or weekend trackday toy?

I am hoping a bit of both but most likely will be day to day commute with occasional fun weekends.

Manual, I tried the SST and thought a was a bit wk

For the 'average' driver (not that any of us are that are we? ) I'm told paddle shift is actually faster . . .

I guess it depends on what driving experience you are looking for. I have read the SST is very very good but some people just like to have full control over the car so opt for the manual.
