Mazda 6 2.3l Thirsty for oil

Hi folks, I've noticed my car has started to drink oil like it's going out of fashion, going from full to half empty on the dip stick in about 6 weeks. It's not leaking out so it must be being burned off. The car is a 52 plate and it's done almost 70k miles so I would expect it to be worn bores (but who knows), other than that any other ideas ?

Any oil in the coolant?
