Celica 3SGE Engine question
Discussion
Hi , I'm hoping someone may be able to help here , a friend of mine has landed a 3SGE (2 litre twin cam) Celica engine which I know to be a pretty good unit as we own a Celica Gen 5 Cab , however he is hoping to turn it around and use it for an inline setup on a Cortina Mk2 , question is which box to use as the drivetrain on a Toyota is all designed as a FWD and the GT4 box is a huge 90 deg adaption so just wouldn't work , can an earlier Gen 3/4 box be used as I think these were RWD or will anything from a Lexus or Supra be used ?

?
You mean an early Celica? Not sure but i think they're gonna be quite expensive and the W58 i know is not cheap.
The Altezza came with the beams engine, which is a tuned 3SGE so that'll bolt straight up.
Otherwise you're looking at adapter plates etc.
