Tyre recommendations for Impreza WRX
Discussion
I've done a search but not coming up with anything ..
I recently bought an 06 WRX which is fitted with Bridgestone Potenza REO50 (215.45.17) tyres that I believe to be the standard fitment, they're getting to the point of replacement but before I go for the same again I'm interested to know if there is anything else out there that particularly suits the car?
I don't do a lot of miles so more than happy to trade grip for longevity and they will almost certainly see the odd track day and some spirited driving.
Any suggestions very welcome
Cheers
Mike

Ive got a 2001 with the exact wheels on the shape you have.
Its fitted with Yokahamas which I have no problems with. Good grip wet and dry.
Havnt done many miles to see how they last though.
Had Good year F1 on my classic. they were very good.
One of my favourites are BF Goodrich Profiler G...if you can get them

225x45x17 Toyo T1R's The extra bit of width over the 215 helps with grip and i've always found Toyo's to be excellent in the wet very good in the dry. Slightly soft sidewall but not bad and road noise is OK too. They last long enough and a the prices Camskill sell them for you can't go wrong.
If you have the money i also here Vredestein Ultrac are vey good all round and last a long time, but if you want the ultimate road legal scooby tyre that's as good in the wet as it is in the dry and still be affordable it's gotta be Bridgestone RE070 225x45x17. They are about as good as it gets for fully traded road legal rubber without going onto Toyo R888 track tyres, i also here good things from P1 scooby owners that bought their cars from new running Pirelli PZero Corse super sticky fully treaded rubber. You can still buy them today but they are lots of money.
