Recomended mod's for Legacy GT ??
Discussion
Hi Chaps,
in a moment of old age dementia my dad (67) bought a Legacy GT,
once upon a time it is reported to have 280 Bhp...not so sure not but
I did take it out for a hoon and it did go well.
Question is, what brake up grade does everyone recommend? They felt in
adequate for the car in my opinion.
Also any other OAP-friendly mods???
Much appreciated !

If the brakes aren't up to it for your dad then look into a set of STI Brembo's or depending on what year you dads Legacy is the Prodrive Alcon conversion, may also be suitable?
That and a decent set of pads and discs should haul the big girl up sufficently!
Other things to look into (before going for BHP) is things like a whiteline Anti Lift Kit.Bang for buck one of the best mods you can do, even on a Legacy (most of my customers rate this higher than any other mod)
A decent set of springs from Eibach or H & R and some Bilstein dampers (if it hasn't already got them?) and it'll be a different car.
Depending on what he want's from it I'd start with those.
Hope that helps a bit?

Ta, very much.
I told him to buy an Impreza WRX and be done with it but
he insisted on an estate. Good for me mind you i'm off Snowboarding with the
boys in Jan and need a Family car for all the kit.
With that in mind i'll hold off recommending the suspension mods till we're back
from the alps, however the brakes will be a bit more pressing !

Does it have the 2-pot front brakes or the poxy 1-pot items? Most have the 2-pots which are fine (for road use) but I don't know what Subaru were thinking putting the 1-pot brakes on some of them.
Most common upgrade would be to the 2-pots if it doesn't have them already, if it does decent fluid and pads should suffice but you could go for bigger STi brakes or some aftermarket alternative.
