Hello dear Pistonheads memebers,
I currently drive a 2021 Alpina B3 G20. I'm currently using 20-inch summer tires:

255/30R20 (8.5J x 20 ET28) front and
265/30R20 (9.5J x 20 ET38) rear.

Could you please recommend 18- or 19-inch aftermarket rims that would fit my car that i would use for the winter?

Thank you!

First point of call should be the wheel/tyre size sticker on the door post as it will give you BMW recommended wheel/tyre size for winters if there is a specific size.

If so it will be marked M&S or with a snowflake.

I found information in the booklet also, however only 19" are listed:
8.5J x 19 front
9.5J x 19 rear

I would be really grateful to run 18" for winter - therefore the question is: which aftermarket wheels do fit in 18" ?
if anyone could confirm I would be really grateful
Thanks1

What size front brakes do you have?

If it's the 395mm ones, then you'll have problems fitting any 18" wheels over them (it's already awkward finding 18s that fit over the 370mm M-Performance kit). Maybe some narrow ones (like a 7j a 225 tyre) with a huge offset to push them away from the caliper would fit, but it would be trial and error.

It’ll be 19s to fit over the brakes; I doubt you’ll get 18s for it

Have a look on MrWinterWheels and see if they have a recommendation for your car; if not you may have to stick with BMW wheels

Hang on; 442s are for the Fx range aren’t they, which means 5x120

Didn’t the Gx series move to 5x112 and a completely different centre bore too?

They did indeed. All G series are 5x112. The wheels need to be 19" to accomodate the brake discs. Any standard G2* alloy of that size should fit.

stick some Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 on them or similar. You will probably be fine with a set of Contact 7s

I bought a new set of wheels and winter continental run flats from wheelbase , I think that’s what it’s called , for a new 340ix , pricey but I’ve done my best to get the wife through winter months on her 100 or more round trip for work and to be honest , new straight wheels fitted with decent tyres , balanced and with tpms valve delivered to the door made life very easy . The fact that should she get a puncture or wreck a tyre or wheel means I’ve got an easy fix too .

Is this a reputable shop? Thinking of getting a set from them.
