Am I right in saying I need ISTA-D or ISTA+ as a diagnostic software for both our 2015 f23 2 series and 2019 g11 7 series?

That being the case, can anyone point me in the direction of where to obtain a reliable copy of the software? Preferably one that comes with an idiots guide to installation. I have the yellow cable already so hopefully just the software I'm looking for

Depends on what you need it for / want it for (ie just diagnostics, or coding too etc) and how tech savvy you are with Windows etc

If you want decent coding capabilities and code reading alongside, the BimmerCode and BimmerLink apps are very easy to use, work really well and the required Bluetooth dongle (Vgate) is only c£23 on Amazon currently

As for ISTA etc - the only person I know who could source it is (forgotten his name) at CableShack: https://cable-shack.co.uk/

Yeah just diagnostics. I have bimmercode/bimmerlink already but for example I'd like to adjust and level the ride height on my 7 series which is only possible via ista.

I'll try cableshack..actually rings a bell from bmw5 if I'm not mistaken

I got my ISTA from Rusty at Satnavupgrades I think it is.

Who ever you get it from, make sure they provide the installer package as ISTA is made up of separate components. Without the one click setup process, it can be painful. But not as painfully slow as ISTA is to load up and operate, dear god it's horrendous.

Bimmergeeks Pro Tool is worth a look also. Being newer it has ongoing support, whereas ISTA you're reliant on leaked copies finding their way onto the net. Bummerlink & code are way to basic, although Bummerlink's Carplay integration for live sensor values is neat.
