F30/31 screen washer nozzles

I've just noticed after washing my screen on the A303 that one of my screen washer nozzle inserts has gone missing.

Instead of the usual spray it pumped out a huge jet.

I can only find entire looms (two nozzles and the heater wiring) after a quick Google.

Can I just buy a nozzle insert, it's about 5mm x 10mm or am I going to have to buy all of it?

They're £85 each on eBay currently via BMW with a discount live; but try Cotswolds BMW for a quote to see what they want to charge

I wouldn't go aftermarket; they tend to be made out of crap plastic and don't last long at all

I had exactly the same thing happen. I initially bought a used part with a view to prise out the insert and pop it into place. Come hell or high water I couldn’t prize the little so and so out and ended up buying a new BMW unit. Makes you wonder how the fall out by themselves when you can’t pry them out

IIRC they're on teeth; you have to lift a small tab up to release them; that's how you set their correct height

But if that tab snaps; that's how they fall out

I had a leaking one on my Z4M when I collected it, which explained why the low fluid warning light was on!

BMW only sell the complete washer jet but I managed to find a couple of used ones. Once I got the leaky one swapped I took the fuse out to avoid future issues as I've never, ever needed to clean the headlight lenses because I couldn't see at night.

Although it has Xenons the headlight washers aren't required on a car registered before sometime in 2009 so MOTs aren't a problem. If your car has Halogens you might want to do the same - AFAIK they don't need washers even after 2009.
