Hi
I am back in the BMW fold after selling my (from new) 240i in 2021. I was not planning on buying this but got carried away that it was a good option in the pub a few weeks ago and bought off Pietonheds auction (you can see it in sold). I am getting a new satnav/infotainment screen and carplay/ andoid auto (same as and from guys in video) - which was a lot more than i wanted at £1,100 but i need it as the screen is poor and i want google maps etc.

I am also thinking of getting it remapped. i never mapped my b58 240 but probably would have if i kept it longer, but the N55 is a little down on power and torque and heavier so i think it would be a worthwhile upgrade. I have only used DMS years ago a couple of times on BMW diesels so that would be in the frame although they are likely the most expensive. I see Evolve are circa £499 and look like a strong reputation. Celtic Tuning may be a cheaper option.

Any advice would be welcome on companies, prices, any other mods that would be adiseable as well - and also on insurance?

i had MG Flasher on my 2019 X3 M40i. It was ok but I felt not smooth enough so went to DMS. Their map was loads better and felt quicker overall. Much smoother and no jerkiness.

On DMS rollers it showed I think 455ps. As others have doubted their rolling road figures on another day I took it to Surrey Rolling Road where it produced just over 440hp ... so given different days and different rolllers not a huge difference.

The main thing was, as remaps go, the DMS one was great. It was the second map I've had off them and I have found them both times to be expensive but very good.

Now onto newer cars so no maps for me !

I had the opposite experience on stage *2.5* mg flasher m240i.

Before I had an evolve stage 2 map which was jerky. Not great. Night and day
