What the feeling on these? Popular, any known issues, colour sensitivity, spec, etc?

I've been offered a loaded one as a replacement for my workhorse but I'm seeing asking prices of £20K-£30 plus and price reductions.

No interest in a falling knife so thoughts appreciated.

Solid engine, chain issues mostly sorted by 2016 but timing chains can still rattle. EGR cooler recalls. Suspension bushes wear. Popular but values dropping. Don’t pay over £22k unless full history and low miles. Colour: grey or blue sell easiest. Black hides dirt but shows swirls. White looks cheap on these. Spec must have adaptive LEDs and Harmon Kardon to hold value. If it’s loaded but seller won’t budge much, walk. Plenty about.

Good comfy cruisers

Dont disregard the 40d

Check if rear suspension air struts and pump have been replaced- common failure

Check tyres - the 20” are £250 - £300 per corner

Ours is on 115k miles and has had replacement AdBlue tank and intercooler

Ran plenty of them very hard at work, abused 24/7 but most of them did 250k before disposal

Reliable and can take a lot of abuse

Thanks for the replies. To respond to a couple of points. The car has new tyres and other models like the 4.0 aren't on the radar. This just came up by chance. It has the features like HK and HUD - which did give me childish pleasure.

The car I'm looking at is very low mileage, fortunately not accrued with short trips but just very occasional use.

My concern is that I don't need what would be a workhorse for me and I don't like the inevitable damage that occurs to cars when you use them as such. Fine when it's cheap and not immaculate to start with but different here. On top of all that, SUVs do nothing for me in the 'look back and admire' stakes.

My conclusion is a very low offer is the only way it works for me. Even then, I have the issue of spoiling it and it remains a ten year old car not getting any younger. I'll make an offer and we'll see.
