Hi All

First post on the BMW forum . I have been around for a long time on the PH TVR and Jag forums but the Jag has now gone and I now have a low mileage 2018 640i.
There are so many features and play things that I have just started to have a look around the car (9 Weeks of ownership )
The side view cameras have an upside down image and need flipping .
I have read that this can happen after a S/W update and needs calibrating via ISTA.

I have also read that this can be done remotely

I have a BMW warranty but I don't think an issue like this is covered

Any advice appreciated

PS I do have a call into the BMW salesman who sold me the car

I'd get BMW to sort it, more so as it's under warranty. Safe then rather than trying yourself

The cameras for either side are physically the same but specific for a side. To me it sounds like they have been put in the wrong way round if that makes sense. Has the front bumper been painted before you got it? I would either take it back to BMW or if you can be bothered swap them around and it should correct itself.

Common issue after software glitch. ISTA recalibration fixes it. Remote coding can work but risky if not done right. Dealer might goodwill it since it's a fault, not wear. Push the salesman.

Just a quick update that the car is booked into Main Dealer where I bought the car and I have confirmed the warranty does cover the issue.

I will update when fixed
