My 2022 BMW 440d Coupe that I’ve owned from 2k miles is on its original tyres that will require replacing soon.

The original tyres are Goodyears that have performed well and I would have no hesitation in replacing them with the same.

However, I would also like to consider Bridgestone, Michelin or Pirelli as alternatives.

Does anyone have any experience of these tyre brands on similar cars and what would you recommend out of the 4 brands cited.

I'm on my second set of Goodyears, Assy 5 and now Assy 6, on a F31 335d, I used to default to PS4.

I initially got them because they were always up there in the tests but also the quietest of the bunch, very happy with them over 50 odd thousand miles, comfy, handly and relatively quiet - which I value with my car being an estate.

I drive quite quickly from time to time and tbh I can't really tell the difference between these and PS4, not tried Conti's on this car and I believe the latest Pirelli's are pretty handy, I think they're all within a few percent of each other so I decided not to worry about it too much!

What I will add, I bought the front and rear pairs at different times and as I now know they are available with and without the rim protection moulding so by accident I have 2 of each which irks my OCD...

These are non runflats btw.

I've run all 3 brands across various M cars and 3/5/7 series on F & G chassis cars, I wouldn't touch Bridgestone again awful, Pirelli PZ4 are good for wear/grip and noise, but Michelin always seem to come out on top for me (PS4S), honourable mention for continentals but they wear a lot but offer the best handling (front end bite esp)

If you've really rated the Goodyears; then why change?

I ran the Assym 6's on our F31 before deciding to stick with one set of wheels and the Goodyear Vector Gen3 4Season tyres - absolutely superb and make for a very comfy & quiet drive (non RFTs obviously)

For my E63 635d; I'm running 19" Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sports all round and they're brilliant tyres and would wholeheartedly recommend them; fantastic grip in the dry; survived the hot weather we had with zero issues and so far; have been excellent in the rain - I'm looking forward to seeing how they get on with the winter weather and our jaunts up to The Highlands in Dec and then Feb

Tyres are a very personal choice though; what suits one doesn't always suit the other and sometimes it can be trial and error
