I've ordered CB again-my wife's fault she likes it.

Previously experience with an M car was swirl city and even touching it with anything except a very good micro fibre towel left scratches.

Looking for advice from owners of CB. Should I ceramic coat? The theory is it should be much easier to keep clean and need less contact . TIA

A ceramic coating is like a Teflon pan in that it makes the car much, much, much easier to clean but you still need to contact wash it.

If you've noticed significant swirling on previous vehicles it would indicate improvements to the wash process are required.

A careful and considered wash process is more important than anything else, regardless of if you have a coating or not.

Cheers.

Can’t help much, but as much as I love Carbon Black, it’s a pain in the arse for showing marks etc.

My 130i LE was Carbon Black, I hated it! These cars need PPF to protect it properly and not give two hoots as to how you wash it. Even with ceramic coating it needs to be looked after properly otherwise no point getting it done in the first place.

I think you just need to be super careful when washing; use a really good snow foam to gel remove as much crap as possible before the contact wash and religiously rinse the wash mitt. Might be worth trying with a pet dryer or similar rather than a towel.

Well worth ceramic coating IMO as it does show every little mark. You think you have it well polished, then in certain lights out pop all the ultra fine scratches.

But when it's well polished, and maybe with some Poorboys Black Hole to help cover things between polishing, it's a lovely colour.

As above really

My 130i LE is Carbon Black

This was after 2 days of machine polishing and a good coating of Soft99 Fusso

I've washed it twice since; very carefully with very decent coverings of snowfoam and rinsing etc; there are marks already...

It's a sod to keep clean; but I'm not overly precious as it's a 2007 car with nearly 145k on it!

But for me, if it were a much newer car; I'd absolutely have it done professionally and ceramic coated
