Hi, has anyone got a good recommend for an under bonnet sound proofing supplier?

The car is a 1990 E30 325i Cabrio. The original foam stuff turns to dust if you touch it.

I want something that is Black / Charcoal to look at. No shiny reflective stuff.

TIA

FWIW my pals used this on his E39 M5 after he'd had the engine rebuilt and made it nosier with the CF intake system etc

It works really well; dulls down the sound but still lets you know how good it sounds, if that makes sense?

If you need higher temp protection, then one of the Cool-It mats/blankets may be an option...

Hi thanks for that.

I would much prefer a non-shiny liner, so black/charcoal only. The original was a grey foam, but as I mentioned before it is turning to dust.

You should still be able to get OEM. C3 BMW might have some options.

Wouldn't touch LLL with a bargepole; based in Latvia / Lithuania (one of the two) and they advertise parts they haven't got in stock and have to source it themselves; you find out weeks later when no updates are received and you've to chase and chase for a refund...

Careful

Try Cotswolds BMW and see if they can source you an OEM one

Thanks again, I thought that buying an aftermarket black liner would be easy.

My local BMW agent are keen to help me source parts, and usually could up to it being 25-years old, but then i get the impression that HQ ordered spares to be disposed of. Last year, I enquired about front uprights, the could only source a left-hand one and wanted the earth for just the outer tube. Fortunately the old ones stripped down easily enough.
