One of my headlights has significant water beading inside.

Any pointers as to what to check? No obvious cracks on the lense or the bits of the light you can see with the light in situ.

Thanks

Unusual on an F31, what type or lights are they? LED, Halogen etc.

When I had issues with one of my BMW headlights, it was due to the top joints failing underneath the headlight gasket.

Some of this - https://www.granvilleoil.com/prodInfo?pID=48 and new gaskets fixed it

The only way to be sure where the leak is coming from, is to take it out and pressure/smoke test it. You can take them out without dismantling the front end - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWol1fyT0ng

It’s the led lights. Bizarrely one side went about 6 months ago and I replaced it, now it’s the other one with very similar symptoms.

Not fancying my chances of taking the front end apart enough to get it out for inspection!

If you got warranty get it replaced.

Yeh if I’d had warranty I’d have been straight back with it but it’s a near 10 year old car so no such luck!

This is exactly why I've kept the insured warranty on my F31 335d, I had a daytime running light LED element fail, headlamp was changed under warranty 4 months ago - invoice was over £2.5k inc fitting and recoding to the car.

So many expensive parts on these frown
