I'm looking for a decent spec, low-ish mileage 535i Touring. This one is for sale at the moment but the price seems high to me.

They insist it's worth the money due to being a 2 owner car with reasonable spec. They will only budge by £500.

What do we think it's really worth? £19k feels about max to me. In fact even that seems a little strong.

WBAC value that at £10750 suggesting it is more than a bit overpriced.

Lovely car though.

I also checked that and found the same. I appreciate that they're reasonably uncommon and prices are a little all over the place but this seems excessive. They seem to range between £15k and £20k for a 30 thousand miler.

Price looks fairly optimistic, but they are rare.

They've had it advertised since 9th October and havent adjusted the price from that, suggesting they're happy to sit and wait.

Colour combo and spec is in their favour.

Lower spec but new model and 3 years younger....

Year younger, less miles, good spec for £1000 less.

Private seller. They've had it advertised a month to the day so might be willing to talk....

Couldn’t care less about owners tbh. You can definitely find an alternative a couple of grand cheaper with ease.

Interesting, I did wonder how long it had been for sale. Thanks.

They say they've got several interested parties, which is no doubt bks.

Also I did spot that G31...

Yeah I've seen that one too, but slightly boring colours. And a big scuff on the near side front bumper. But you're right about potential willingness to move.

True, possibly not so much with a decent amount of kit in a nicer colour combo.

As said above the F11 is optimistically priced- having gone from a 530d F10 to G30, build and performance is a definite step up -good as the F series is.

Thought this looked nice if you are open to a Japanese import.

Yep, spotted that, it's a reasonable one but no HK stereo...

HK isn't that good, lacks clarity and bass response. There's much better aftermarket options.

I ve got a jap import 335i GT 2016.
It doesn’t have HK, but it has all the hardware in the right places (e.g. speaker in the dash, tweeters in the door etc.) and sounds on par with HK audio.
The standard base audio spec for jap spec BMWs are way higher than the crap base UK spec we got here, so don t discount a jap import BMW for not having HK labelled audio.

I had an f10 for 8 years and do rate them BUT that f11 is vastly over priced. There are several issues with the f10/f11 too namely door corrosion and the bulkhead grommet leaks, and headlight condensation which can be a ball ache and or very pricey if or when control units fail which are houses inside the light enclosure. G31 a much better all rounder and the B engine better again than the n55 which get leaky as they they age.

I've read of some of those issues before actually, thanks for that. These comments may well be making me re-evaluate my choices. Especially as sone of them are pretty common.

Cheers all.

The 1st listed one is at a laughable price at best - it's not worth that asking price at all. Realistically it's a c£14k to £16k car, at MAX

Personally the silver Jap import one for me is the one to go for; the condition of Jap import cars is next to none and will be hell of a lot cleaner underneath than most UK cars; plus it's interior is lovely IMO

The price for the one on the first page is ridiculous. The N55, although a great engine, isn’t exactly new tech either. I say this with one in an M135i. Anything with a B58?

Not really. There's this... Oddly appealing and good spec, but I think I hate it hehe I really want an estate, anyway.

I think I might revert to Plan A which is a Skoda Superb 280 TSi 4x4. I know that's going to win me no fans in this sub forum!

A friend of mine has the Skoda Superb 280 - super fast, handles like a tank laugh He'll be getting rid soon; he's not overly impressed with it unfortunately

The 640i GT you've linked to is a nice motor IMO; I'm always wary about their resale though

I'm going to be with my E39 540i for at least 2 years as that's when we say goodbye to our mortgage; my aim is either a G31 540i touring; or a bit cheaper, a decently spec'd 640i GC, ideally from Japan; I think they're a superb car

I bought one 12 months ago, motorway offering more than I paid for it. Much better spec than a G31, same load space, extra rear legroom as its on the 7 platform. Slightly less sharp to drive, but really munches the miles. The missus enjoys the extra space in the passenger seat.
