Afternoon,

After 6 weeks of ownership, the other day after 2 days of rain I noticed a damp patch above drivers seat. Thr car has a pan roof, so I assumed drainage plugs in the corners of sunroof were blocked but agyer spraying water down they appear to be ok on both sides. What I have noticed is the drivers side wheel arch area drips for alot longer than the passenger side.

Could this be the exit point of the drainage pipe being blocked, and due to the very heavy rain is backed up? I pulled wheel arch back as much as I could and I think a small drip is coming from behind the indicator, has anyone had similar experience, and what was the outcome. Thanks in advance.

Nb: it has rained a good amount in the 6 weeks I've had it , and this is the first time atleast noticing it.

This is a known E70 problem.
If the top drains are clear, the blockage is lower down where the tube exits behind the wheel arch liner. That rubber nipple gets clogged, causing water to back up into the headliner during heavy rain. Your driver's side dripping longer than passenger side confirms it's trapped and slowly draining.

Pull the liner right back, find the rubber grommet at the bottom, and squeeze it to clear the gunk. Also check the tube hasn't popped off the sunroof cassette inside the roof. Dry the headliner properly afterwards or it'll smell.

Since it's only happened once in six weeks, clearing that lower exit should sort it.

Superb thanks for confirming, will get it all off and bottom it out, fingers crossed a relatively straightforward fix.
