High mileage G21 Touring
Discussion
I’ve got the opportunity buy a very tidy 21 plate G21 320d Touring M-sport.
The car has done 105,000 miles, with full BMW service history.
What I’d like to know is any specific things I should be looking out for on a G21 and at this mileage mechanically?
I don’t mind higher miles, I’ve bought several cars around this mileage and had excellent experience, however I don’t know enough about these.

Check the timing chain. That’s still the main thing on a 320d even the later ones. Listen for a rattle on cold start.
Also look at the EGR cooler. They can crack and leak. Ask if it’s been replaced under recall.
Differential bushings and rear shocks tend to be tired around that mileage. Take it for a drive and listen for clunks over bumps.
Adblue system is a pain if it fails. Check no warning lights. Otherwise the B47 engine is solid if serviced properly. Full history is good just make sure oil changes were every 12k not stretched.
