Nice collection,

I had the ZXR H1 and the J model that followed it, fond memories.

I am not sure I'll watch it, but good to see a Katana there. Those Triumphs remind me of the cover of Steve McQueen.

Errr.......I am slow. Those Triumph's remind me of the cover of Prefab Sprout's album Steve McQueen which I've owned longer than I'd care to remember, but I've just realised it's a reference to The Great Escape. I watched the Guy Martin Great Escape docu-recreation last year too. I am too slow to be riding motorcycles. 'Everyday is a school day...

Quite an enjoyable vid, how many does he have there 25 or so? Quite a nice collection.

The Brough SS80 and 20 s BMW were pretty cool and the missus liked the blue Indian. GSXR1100 always a cool bike, I have a 916, ZXR, Katana and CBX in common with him.

Edited to add, that Norton is a lovely thing also!! Imho it’s what a collection should be about, as a recent readers letter in one of the bike mags said, “variety feeds the addiction” smile

I only had a quick scan through but I like the look of his collection. If I had the money and space I'd love a collection like that; lots of different stuff not just rows of the same kind of thing!

We had an SS80 Brough the same as his, which was a magical thing. It made you feel genuinely special to ride it. His Norton cafe racer looks very similar to mine, albeit I prefer mine (which is the idea with specials!).

I always quite liked Hammond, and it's nice to see he seems to be a genuine enthusiast smile

Quite enjoyed watching that

Agree on the Ducati 916s - still (for me) look incredible and almost modern. I think timeless classic

I can't watch it because of him.
I appreciate I have an irrational and unfounded dislike for the man in the extreme. I just see entitled and not genuine in everything about him .
Shame as it has interesting motorbike content and I can't put aside my illogical bias.

When it comes to bikes, I think his passion for them is genuine and I feel that comes across in anything I've seen him talk about them and feel it does in the video too.

That's one reason I don't watch him as much as I did. his daughter in it all the time.

I watched some of his stuff online, then his daughter was in a little. then more. then even more.

he's supporting her in her career choice, any decent father would do the same

I enjoyed that video, some great bikes there. A couple of oddballs too!

The one he did on his first bike was superb, a massive hit of nostalgia. I think he's a really likeable guy.

Watching that I had a pang of regret about selling my Indian FTR, then remembered its poor range, fueling, customer support, poor residuals, diminishing dealer network and Indian's recent sale to a PE firm and immediately got over it.

Great collection...and he ends with 2 Indians, which is nice.

nerd Few errors in what he's saying with the Chief - he says as standard it had a left hand throttle and a right hand advance retard. Sort of, but not really. The very earliest Indians were like that, take it or leave it. But by the time the later Chiefs came along you had a choice of standard or 'reversed' controls - it was a tick-box on the order form. Reversed controls means a right hand throttle, AND left hand gear change. His bike has a left hand gear change so unless someone has swapped that (which is always possible) then it left the factory with a right hand throttle...as many did by the 40s. The only part required when swapping throttle and advance retard over was the gear change lever; for the twistgrip controls (no springs in there; push-pull piano-wires) you'd just swap over the ends at the carb and distributor (yes, Indian Chiefs have distributors).

But I remember most of the bikes in there, certainly the ones from the 60s/70s on. Not much in there I wouldn't have, funds and space permitting.

Yeah. Shame he flew through them so quickly in the video.

Great collection, and he's right about the Katana, may look a bit ordinary now, but when it came out it looked f*&%ing mental !!

Yes Hammond can be a bit annoying, but he's nowhere near on Henry Cole's level, I just cannot bear to watch anything with HC in it.
