My HJC 91 is coming to the end of its life, so I have started looking around to replace it. The trouble is I have an enormous head. 25.5" or a bit over 64cm to be precise. HJC still do the same helmet and there's nothing especially wrong with it, but I was just curious what else is available. The answer so far is very little. Google brings up lots of options but when you click on them they usually don't do my size.

Anyone else had this problem? What did you end up buying?

Back in the day, the Shoei TXR was known for being a large shell, and the largest of that range never failed to for the biggest head.

Out of touch now, so don’t know the l current equivalent model .

There seem to be 196 products of at least 64cm if you combine the 65cm, 3XL and 4XL filters here:

Ah that's useful. I hadn't got the filtering right there. Thanks.

Have a look at AGV - they've introduced new shell sizes recently to help spread the sizes

My head's about 1cm less wide than yours but I do need space for glasses.

I found Shoei, HJC and Schuberth (currently with a C5) to be the best fit.

I have 63cm dome, I just replaced an XL Shoei with a Scorpion XXL.

An HJC XXL didn't fit, was too tight on the front.

I'm between 63 & 62 - I have a £150 LS2 lid which is very comfortable, good sound suppression, Pinloc & is EC06. Highly recommended...

One of the considerations is head shape as well as general size, I can't get my head in the biggest Klim helmet as they're too narrow at the front, even though it should be the right size on paper. My Airoh is the comfiest one I've tried recently.

I’ve got a big and odd shaped noggin. Over the years I’ve struggled to get anything to fit. Shoei was the best I’d found, although they always ended up pressing on my forehead and giving me a headache after a couple of hours. I have a Simpson Bandit which is much better.

But now I’ve treated myself to a reassuringly expensive Nexx X.Lifecountry Terra. It’s a flip front adventure style helmet, so doesn’t suit all bikes, but by god it’s comfortable. I’ve ridden about 4000 miles in it so far and had an 8 hour day when it was only off for 5 minutes. Nexx do a version without the peak (still flip front) which is the same shell so would be just as comfortable.

Also big head . I have had several Shark helmets that fit and are comfortable. My most recent in an HJC, my first one and it's big enough and fits well, but I think the Shark is better quality and certainly quieter.
