The brand has never interested me much before but this I really like! Will this help bring interest to the younger or or other riders in the market?

It's a concept from what I read but I reckon it'll make production

That engine runs in its higher state tune 150hp and a big amount of torque to go with it

That's lovely.
I lusted after the earlier version, the XLCR ('Excelsior'...) in the '70s, had the poster on my wall.

25 years later, I saw a pic of a Buell and was struck by its similar look, with its black bikini and siamesed headers, I had to have one... (and still do wink )

Fast forward another 25 years, and here we go again! laugh

Looks great and thats a really nice engine too, I have the earlier 125bhp version in my VRod. Not for me with that riding position but im sure it would appeal to the hipster market..."retro" style bikes seem more popular than sports bikes these days.

HD were supposed to be doing a naked style bike with that 1250cc engine, but it was canned a few years ago

Looks good, with flat bars and a better seat it could be interesting. Weight would be a factor, the PanAm ST is quite chunky. Engine is fun.

I never thought I'd say this about an HD but that looks quite nice and I'd even consider it if I was looking at retro styled cafe racers.

Agreed, hope they do a version with flat bars, clip ones just aren’t fun!

Looks alright but it’s likely to be 250kg and £35k so I couldn’t be more out.

It's not a million miles away from the Indian FTR concept, which unfortunately they discontinued last year.

Like the modernised Sportster-S and the Nightster, this looks interesting but sadly looks like it suffers from quite a lot of cut corners with plastic cheapness and cable/wire placement issues - not as awful as the Sportster S and the horridly visible cabling behind the ste plastic radiator cover from the riding position, but still looks cheap for a bike that is likely to have a £15-20k price tag.

Plus its chain driven ... yuck, give me a belt drive anyday! (edit to add - the dual front brake is a very nice welcome addition though!!)

If it goes to production 225KG and £18k probably more like it, but that's still pretty portly.

Thank you TwinKam, that was the bike I was thinking of. You've saved me searching the Internet.

I do like that - the only thing that would get me on to a Harley, and if I was looking for something a bit sporter than the current stable this would probably be top of the list. I'm too old/stiff for 'proper' sports bikes but this doesn't look too extreme, and I love big v-twins, and think it looks great.

I remember when the original XLCR came out in '77, the local dealer got one into stock, but I recall it sat in the showroom for a LONG time! I was riding a Z900 at the time, and although I was a Japanese four/Kawasaki guy, I really liked the Harley even then, so still got a soft spot for the concept.

No idea what the price will be, but BTW the new Indian Sport Scout is a v-twin with a wee fairing and I think under £13k? But not as much power as the Harley should be, and in my eyes the Harley also looks a bit better eek. But the Sport Scout is a really nice ride...but I don't need a 5th Indian wink

33° lean angle on the Scout, I'd have the pegs down most mornings.

thumbup The pegs would be down every dry day ... and some wet days too.

Yea, but if you remember to put the side stand down before getting off it won’t fall over.

If they do anything, they should take a leaf out of Triumph's book and make a cosmetically "retro" version of the Revolution Max engine in a bike that looks like a 1950s/60s Sportster (1958 XLR, please, and I might even buy one - Riders is just down the road smile).

However, since anything different has almost always been a sales failure for H-D (XLCR, XR1000, FXR), I doubt if it will ever happen.

I like the looks, plus a big grunty motor makes a very useable fun bike that sort of emulates the burls of the past.
Big downside unless it’s changed since my missus worked for HD is that the prospective owners that they would be targeting, shy away from entering an HD dealership!
A multi franchise dealer surrounding is best for these to be taken seriously as all and anyone that might be in the market for something like this would already be in the showroom comparing metal against metal!

They could just put the Bronx into production.

Unless the CEO had the tooling and drawings trashed?
