Evening all, I am having new tyres fitted to my KTM Superduke tomorrow. I have used Michelin Power 6 but wondering what other people are running for fast road use? I don't plan on touring on it again as the adventure bike will fill this role. Not too fussed about longevity.

Normally Tyre \9and oil) questions get posted on Friday, after the pub, sometimes on Saturday, if hungover, but Sunday?
Hung over much?

If you like the Michelins then the Power Cup 2 are mint on these.

I loved them on my RR.

Sadly not, the joys of this have been taken away by the introduction of Warfarin. So, I now have to resort to asking such questions in a completely sober state on a Sunday evening.

I haven't tried them but they are a good shout. Nice to hear you rate them on your RR.

Cheers for that. I always used to race on Dunlops and loved them, so that's a good shout. The Metzler does seem to get good reviews too. Thanks again.

Some of my lot including one that rides a 1290 and ex bemsee racer run Bridgestone S22 and the newer S23

I've run these and they grip well and last pretty good. Only downside I had was when the S22 rear I ran started to go off it really went off (Brands Indy road bike only day)

I typically always run SuperCorsa but just putting my 2 pence out there

Cheers for that. I haven't run Bridgestone for a few years so it could be a good shout also. I have raced on SuperCorsas too but didn't get on with them for some reason.

I’ve run metzler racetec rr, supercorsa sp, sportsmart TT and the original s22 on my sdr. Funnily enough just switched to power 6.

The racetec and supercorsa are great on a warm day but under 15c and they take a while to warm up. The TT seems to warm up well.

I didn’t really like the s22, found them a bit wooden feeling.

I’m liking the power 6 so far, back to back with the supercorsa it doesn’t loose on on feel or agility. Obviously you’ve got the worn out vs new element.

None of the sportier options do any miles on a sdr. On the road a rear is done in 1k miles and a front in 1.5k.

The supercorsa I had last on the front only has about 2mm of tread from new. The power 6 is about 4.5mm.

I've just had some Diablo Rosso 4s' fitted to my 675 Daytona off the back of this Neevesy video.

https://youtu.be/qzJL6KrZV18?is=K2aTvneOC0NBOR84

Never tried Pirellis before, and fancied giving them a go. The Rosso seemed to fit my use case best. I liked the way he broke down the differences between the tyres. He no doubt got a bung / free set of tyres to do it of course.

They feel nice but I'm no riding God. Had some fairly old Michelin 2CTs' on it before from the previous owner and I'd killed the centre of the rear.

I had the Racetec RR on my Speed Twin, they only like warm/hot days and feel very hard in the cold. Wouldn't buy them again.

A couple of years or so back and I would only have run a sports tyre, but sport touring tyres are so good now that you don't lose dry grip but gain wet grip and better treadlife.

Dunlop Roadsmart IV or Bridgestone T33 for me.

Today was tyre fitting day and I ended up going for something new to the market, the Metzeler Sportec 01RS. The tyre guys did a good deal on them and I spoke to someone who had had some fitted recently and rated them very highly. We shall find out tomorrow what they are properly like.

I got a set at Donington last week. But not ridden on them yet. Meant to be great tyres

Well, I have just got back from the usual Tuesday night ride out and the new tyres really do seem to be good. Granted it is early days and the road conditions were as good as they will ever get but the feel, feedback and grip is all there. I am pleased with my choice and look forward to putting some miles on them.

Saw Neevesy is doing a full tyre test video on his channel to be released in September including these tyres.
