Even the best variable tint glasses / sunglasses react to temperature and get darker when they are cold.
I would hate to think a motorcycle visor might do the same thing so have always avoided them.

Sunglasses / tinted visor or dark pinlock when it's sunny; clear spare for when it's not.

I use a medium tint which can be easily used at night without issues, ok its not the darkest in bright light but it does the job, a reasonable comprimise.

Like the idea of these, not the cost however!! I have a habit of getting scratches on my visor. frown

Tried that but found the compromise to be the 'worst of both worlds' I need dark in bright light and clear in the dark, anything less is not good enough, find it no big deal to carry a spare clear/dark as required.

Can't imagine the photosensitive visor is up to the job though, as it probably takes too long to lighten, especially after being 'dazzled' by bright light - I remain to be convinced.

Some kind of 'switchable' transition from dark to clear would be good if it were technically viable.....

isn't there also the hyper optic insert from Fog city? It turns Blue in sunlight, it other wise clear?

I have used the hyperoptik insert from FogCiy for about 2 years.

It's completely clear at night and gets progressivly darker blue with the sun to a really dark blue in bright summers days.

I have always found it to be fantastic and it's anti fog too.

Maybe, I've looked at these but not convinced because the dark part is only partial & I like a full 'blackout' plus the helmets look so big but the concept is great just wish other helmet manufacturers would develop and improve it.
