Got my knee down at last.
Discussion
Well it had to happen sooner or later and it happened yesterday at Mallory Park whilst i was at the race school. Coming out of the chicanes after Gerrards, i was practically hanging off the bike whilst putting the power down and felt my knee touch down twice. It was the only time that i did it during the 2hours on track, but i am no longer a right knee down virgin. Now i have to work on the other one.
It was a real eye opening experiance and i learnt so much in the few hours that i was there, i really didn't know that i could hang off the bike that much or even that i needed to hang off the bike that much, the instructor said that i needed to shift my body over more as i was riding on the very edge of the tyre and if i went over any more the bike would slide from underneath
Legs (mainly my thigs) are aching a bit today, but i suppose that's a good thing as i was doing it right (well thats what the instructor said). A very enjoyable day and much was learnt. I suppose that i should now book up some trackdays and get on to the California Race School.

Good work. I did that race school too. I had to do it to qualify for my ACU licence. I was told exactly the same advice however I was already hanging off to a large extent, but the instructor told me that during the lashing rain it would help keep the thicker tread part on the track. It was awesome sliding it out of the esses on the run up to the hairpin. They're a pretty good race school imho.
