Was their superbikes on this weekend?
I went for a hoot on the ace on sunday and was following a line of cars and due to the sheer weight of traffic didnt think it was safe to filter . Then along comes a power ranger and his dimwitted mates on gsxrs r6 etc doing stupid speeds filtering past cars one nearly fell off after clipping a mirror of a car one had to dolock up to stop hitting a car that was turning right.
Now my heads not securly mounted when im on 2 wheels but i will ride to the conditions ,but this lot beggered beleif biggest bunch of mindless tossers i have ever come across . perhaps biking standards are the next thing to go down the pan ?
Caught up with them and left them for dead after sidmouth and the traffic thinned out

I have come across groups of bikers who have done the same thing coming out of southend, they thought it funny to pass me at close range on there back wheels!! They are probably social weekend only riders and eg each other on, but it wouldn't surprise me if the lot I came across didn't have licences, TAX, insurance etc.
I eventually showed them that staying on two wheels provides much greater acceleration and lost them, he he!

Its a real shame to hear threads like this. Especially from a biker. A minority of bikers who assume god is their co-pilot
and do some really questionable thing on the highway.
Ok, having fun on the open black top is just fantastic. But filtering through crawling traffic at speed is just asking for trouble, and unfortunately giving the biker community a bad name.
Nice bike btw Dennis.

Minority, PMSL head in the sand or what...
Its more like the other way, minority of bikers dont ride like t
ts think they have the right to drive 2" from your bumper, overtake across double white lines, undertake, the list goes on and on. The age old cry from bikers or car drivers not looking is also a bit of a joke, granted it can and does happen, but the majority of time you will find the biker is speeding. Reality check required me thinks.

A bad name?! What a joke. I mean the vast majority of people in this country are completely risk averse anyway so think bikes are death traps and the riders are unhinged and even within bikers riders have different risk assessment criteria as this thread shows. If someone wants to take a higher risk than what difference does it make to you?

Are you daft, fine if it’s on the track, but as soon as you start taking higher risks on the road you involve other road users. That’s fine as long as you are never involved in an accident, but if you are then it will be you at fault.
Riding a bike inherently involves a greater risk than driving a car, but there is no point in riding like such a dick that you get peoples backs up, i am not talking about riding quickly when a decent opportunity arises, but its the tailgating and stupid passes and riding fast around 30 limits that really is unacceptable.

Quite agree that any MOTORIST who does this gives any respectable Petrol head a bad name.
As to upsetting people, you can do that simply by attempting a perfectly legal overtake.

Just because someone takes a greater risk than you doesn't make them a dick any more than it makes you a pansy in their eyes. They take more risks because they choose to. If, in taking that risk they endanger other then fine but frankly all these stories you hear of a biker overtaking someone and slotting into a tiny gap inconveniencing others doesn't get and sympathy from me whatsoever because frankly there should be enough room between cars/bikes to easily allow a bike in if they have misjudged it which is a far more likely explanation of what they did than any habitual riding habit.
