Fun street bikes
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of moving to Sunbury and will be commuting from there to Burnham (near Slough)
Looks like my route will be full of traffic.
I want a bike that's fun at low speed, fast at accelerating (top speed not important) and good through traffic/ tight turns.
I want to be able to insure it fully comp too but I have 0 NCB
What do you guys suggest?

If it's purely for the commute, and not for recreation.
Don't laugh, a 180cc scooter. Quicker than most cages off the lights, very slim to filter with.
other benefits...
underseat storage for bits for work - then put your helmet in on arrival, dry legs and feet, simple to ride, light weight, tiny turning circle, cheaper tax - insurance - tyres, 80+mpg, 80+mph.
All for ABOUT £1K on the used market.
or you could have one of the above mentioned urban bikes, only others I'd add are
620 multistrada
CBR600F
Bandit
but none of them would beat the scooter in dense traffic.

I have far too little Self Confidence to ride a scooter to work! Sad really, as I think you're probably spot on with that choice for commuting and then I could keep my Ninja for fun!
BTW, the only reasons I want to change from the Ninja is so I can insure the bike fully comp and because at slower speeds, something like the CCM would be much more fun.
