It's insurance renewal time.

I've been with BeMoto for a while, but they were expensive when I switched to the S1000R from the GSX-S 1000 part way through the policy & the renewal was nearly £600 incl breakdown (which they insist on including despite me not needing it) & helmet & leathers & legal expenses.

MCN Compare gave several options under £350. Bikesure looked to be the best & only up increased by £30 to include helmet & leathers & the mods on my bike.

Any reason not to go with Bikesure?

BMF & MCN were the next most competitive via MCN compare, but I've not gone to them to bespoke the quotes.

I've been using bikesure for the last 3 years or so. Always helpful with admin stuff and competitive on price. Never had to claim with them though

Same here, been using them for a couple of years for 3 bikes on a multi bike policy. Always competitive but never had to claim thankfully. Will probably renew with them this year. £380 fully comp for 3 bikes. 2 bikes with loads of mods, no issues to cover.

Bikesure are fine for me, been using them for years - they're Adrian Flux's motorcycle arm, and they're a fairly well recognised and respected insurer amongst the modified and classic car crowds

Just migrated from Bemoto ( who wanted 550 to insure my 690 smcr) to bikesure. (£350) Have used them previously but haven’t ever had the pleasure of claiming on my bike policy in the last 12 years. Most companies seem to get negative reviews come claiming on policies, even Bemoto.

Used them a little while ago. Had a non-fault and found them ok to deal with.

I use Kawasaki insurance which is bikesure, never claimed but the price is always competitive.
Zh2 insurance went down 100 quid this year.

Been great for me, first bike in 2020 after passing was a K4 GSXR600, £455, dropped to £255 in the second year.

Then got a Monster 696, they took just the admin fee (£30) to add it onto the Gixxer policy and made it a three bike
policy.

Bought a Gen 1 Hayabusa last September, that was £117 to add it on.

Sold the Monster and bought an old Hardtail Chopper (based on a Z650), the woman just asked me to describe the mods
over the phone, and added it on for just the admin fee.

No complaints at all, staff always helpful, quick to get through on the phone.

Now have my cars insured with Adrian Flux which is the same company.

I’ve had multiple bikes insured with them for the last couple of years.
Premiums are pretty good although can sometimes be a little hard to fathom. To remove a 2021 GS Adventure from the policy mid way through the year actually cost me money due to the admin fee (WTF!) rather than getting anything back.
Getting hold of them on the phone can he time consuming & incredibly frustrating. I was picking a new bike up and flat couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone for 24hrs to get it covered.

I’d say if the premium is good then go for it but I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend them.

Rather than start a new thread... is anyone still using bikesure?

Had any issues with them?

I'm usually with BeMoto, but they have messed me around this year and I'm pretty sick of them... just wondering how Bikesure stack up...

Im still with bikesure, no issues, have changed around bikes last couple of years, still competitive on price, insure mods etc

Thankfully no reason to claim so cant comment on that.

I am. I won't again. The number of times they called me to 'check details' or sent letters saying 'your insurance will be cancelled if you don't get in touch' - and most of them were attempts to upsell house / car insurance etc. Awful.

That's why I'm asking... They went away to get me a quote... I told them I would call them back when I had the time.

They phoned me 8 times, left 3 voice messages, 2 texts message and and email.

I then answered 1 of the calls and told them again that I would call them when I wanted to discuss...they "made a note of that"..

Then called me another 4 times..

Not really the best start.. they seem to have their own recovery that is 60 days in the EU, even though the insurance is 90 days in the EU... They can't tell me why that is.. or what 30 days I wouldn't be covered for...

I'm happy to walk away from them already, but thought I would ask the question..

they are no better or worse than anyone
did work hard to cover my h2sx when i changed mid term from 1000sx to get it on the same terms

marketing - just a polite no thanks does it no need to get arsey - they have a job to do and are probably pushed by "upstairs" to phone so many times they probably don't want to do it as much as you dont want the call

I've not used their recovery. I use Start Rescue which when I have had to (once with the car, once with the bike), have been terrific.

I got specific cover for breakdown for my Germany trip earlier this year, from a different provider. I specifically wanted someone who would recover the bike rather than just pay out. My bike is 23 years old and not everyone will cover it. I also used to work with a lady whose old Yamaha R6 broke down in western Germany. Rather than recover it, they just booked her a cab to the airport and a flight to London as that was cheaper for the company.

I'm with Bikesure, only been riding a year but they were the cheapest for my 1st year and had the renewal through a couple of weeks ago and the price has basically halved with 1 years NCD so i've no reason to change.

They put my policy up by £25 ish on my old 500 compared to last year. Wouldn't budge on pricing. Told them I wanted a complaint logged and I'd go to the Omudsman etc but went for it anyway (too much of a pain to change with the amount of mods). Low and behold, the following morning they call to ask if returning me the difference would be acceptable resolution?

Ludicrous really. I cost them far more in £ manhours spent logging all that than actually agreeing to keep it the same.
