I'm giving some thought to my next purchase.

It will be my winter bike, I usually look for a bargain mid to late summer, take some time to go through the machine and get it mechanically sorted.

I've always had Japanese sports and sports tourers and now I'm considering adding something different to the fleet.

My main criteria is it must be comfortable for two up rides (not usually more than a 6 hour day)
100bhp minimum ideally but 80ish with a flat torque curve will do the job.
Budget up to £5k, although wouldn't mind spending an extra couple if it's in excellent mechanical condition/has luggage etc.

I've noticed a few Buell XB12X Ullysses for sale and found them quite interesting and would like to hear any feedback from owners.

Others that I have looked at include, Cagiva Navigator 1000, KTM 9xx Adv. & Ducati Multistrada.

The other option of course is playing it safe, Kawasaki KLV1000, Honda Varadero etc. for a couple of grand and spend the change on 996 or Fireblade!

I'm just getting my thoughts out of my head really, any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

Ask on the UKBEG Forum. I believe that they have a Facebook page also.

Not Japanese, comfy for two up riding, 100bhp or more? Any reason a BMW R series (doesn't have to be a GS!) isn't on the list?

I've just registered on BEG cheers.

I suppose some sort of BMW should be on the list.
