Planning on going on the Sunday, mainly as I'm in the market for a new bike - hopefully it's worthwhile...

Does anyone have a ticket discount code they could share, please? I'm a member of a couple of car clubs who offer a code for the classic/restoration shows, hopefully something similar exists for the bike show! beer

Discount for the bike show? And you're contemplating a new bike? I guess a Chinese bike should be in budget.

I am going on the Monday but I haven't seen any discount codes for the show plus when I booked tickets I do not recall seeing any field to enter a discount code.

Just gone through the ticket booking process and you're right, no field for a discount code. Always worth a go - why pay full price when you may not need to?

Considering the classic car shows at the same location has discount codes knocking around everywhere, I'd hoped it would be the same for the bike show. tumbleweed

And then there's the parking charge... yikes
When I was last there, I was incensed to discover that the cost of parking at the NEC depended on what show you were there to see, some were far far less and some were free. I intended to research what other shows were on at the same time for my next visit... but my worry was that the car parks were show-specific (as you are funnelled in on entry) and that I might get caught out.
Years ago, we just used to hang around 'til the car park staff had gone home laugh

I haven't been for a few years. I might go on my own this year though. I always go with someone but there's always parts that I want to spend more time at, such as the interviews etc

Careful, quibbling about that will have some folk saying you can only afford a battered 125 that's done 10 years delivering pizza... biggrin

Do you happen to have one for the classic car show? Thinking of going - every little helps.

Why are things like this so expensive? You look at EICMA in milan and the tickets are quite cheap.
Basically a motor/caravan/boat show is an industry trying to sell you on the thing. Some greedy pillocks have decided never mind the product lets just make the money out of a show,I get my money thats all that matters.
Meanwhile the only attendees are older with some disposable income for a ticket but limited intentions to buy a motorbike.
Of course I wont be going. May go to Milan though as its somewhere interesting and not a exhibition centre nowhere like this uk show.
All the manufacturers should just hire a field and put some tents up and charge £10 a ticket. Some young hooligans may show up then and be the next biking generation. When was the last time anyone saw a group of lads tting about at a bike show like people did in the 1970s-80s.
2025 its just like people quietly wandering around a museum or art gallery. May as well do that instead as its more interesting, and free.

I'll be going with a group, I'll moan like I do every year that it's not great but it's a day out and can be a laugh with the others I'm with

Have previously gone night before, got a hotel and done a curry night, few beers and made a bit more of a thing

This year I think plan is just to all go in 1 car and have 4-5 of us get there and back in the day

From my point of view if they charged just a tenner at the
NEC show then I'd be more likely to spend money in their hugely overpriced cafes. As it is I'll take my own food and buy next to nothing probably...

why not park in one of the outlying stations for free and then get the train in for less than parking at the NEC?
saves the hassle of getting out of the NEC and through the HS2 roadworks, you can go a different route

Am sure I heard that parking in the adjacent train station car park was cheaper than the NEC and the distance to walk is the same.

I went down last year and stayed a couple of nights in a hotel, made a little but expensive break of it. I don’t begrudge it, it was a nice break.

As I was wandering round the show I met a couple of mates who’d flown down that morning from Edinburgh, and flying home later for less than the cost of one night in my hotel.

Not sure if it’s just me not navigating the NEC site but I can’t seem to find parking charge prices? I was looking at other events that clash with MCL to see if there’s any events on with cheaper or free parking!

Correct, the last time I looked. You also have a covered walk, rather than one exposed to the elements, or relying on slow shuttle buses!

Looks like they've reduced the parking charge. More so if you book in advance.

Or you can turn up on the day and park at the station for £12.50 during the week or £9.50 at the weekend.
