Recently seen some superb videos of him from the early 2000s on a silver 2002/2003 5PW R1 at Beckton and then a blue 5VY R1 at the Ace Cafe & Nth Circular.
His bike control & rolling burn outs were just off the scale.
Anyone on here that knew him ?

Funnily enough, some Instagram vids showing the early 2000s bike scene has been hitting my feed over the last week and R1 Alex features heavily.

I remember him well as that's when I started riding and used to see him regularly at the Ace (Street Fighter Sundays especially), Chelsea Bridge and Bar Italia (vividly remember him giving the cops the slip). Yes, he was quite handy stunting on R1's and early 20s me used to be in awe as he certainly provided a lot of entertainment! However, he was, let's just say, not quite ever on the right side of the law (think FTP kind of attitude). I have a few stories but won't share them here.

He was killed in a collision with a car near Ongar just over a year back.

I remember him in the 00s when both us would do rolling burn outs and wheelies (he was more burnouts)

I think I still have an old mini dv cam recording of us at a local biker pub. This was all 20+ years ago. I only met him 2-3 times and then stopped road riding and never saw or heard about him again

This was until in the last year when it was well shared over social that he was killed commuting in London

Wild rider when we were in our 20s.

It looks like a local rag website photoshopped two police officers into a Google Maps image of the relevant road.

That that's be done is seriously messing with my head. It compares to stuff online about the US attacking Iran being prophecised in the Bible. 'Don't believe everything you see in the Newspapers or on the Internet'?

I never knew the bloke and never knowingly saw any of his videos, but someone has died and to accompany an article about it the local rag created an image. It all seems a bit questionable, sick and distasteful.

The London rd is an absolutely awful section of road. I avoid it like the plague. The road past Stapleford airodrome is also lethal ( a scooter rider was killed there a few years back )
An aqaintance called Derek was also killed on London rd on his ZZR1400 ( in 2024 as well from memory ) but at the Passingford Bridge end of it. I came off of my RD400C Cafe Racer on the P Bridge roundabout back in the day, due to gravel on the road.

RSV Mille or Benelli Tornado mostly. Had couple of R6s as well but didn't do much stunting on them

What makes it 'lethal'? Surface, junctions, visibility?

Birky, you've skills in abundance. I've liked the looks of RSV since they were released. I probably have a brochure somewhere. It had a sticker for some distributor in Scotland IIRC. The polished frame and swingarm on yours looks great.

Awesome shots ! Thanks for posting them up !
A guy I knew back in the early - mid 2000s, had a circa 2000 Mille R & his pal had a Mille. Very fond memories of Sunday morning hoons around Nth Essex with me on my then FZR1000R EXup.

There's a photo of someone in a slow boys top on a black R1 fist pumping someone on one of those limited SDR 1290s with the metallic orange paint, on FaceBook. The Internet states he was a 'top dog' in the slow boys.

It's made me think of 10 pence short who did porridge after an accident with an oncoming motorcyclist while on a social media organised 'drive out' in his Honda IIRC.

I’m curious as to what model his first R1 was. I’ve seen film from circa 03 ish, of R1 Alex on a silver 2002/03 5PW R1, a blue 2004/05 5VY R1 and a 2015 on Big Bang R1.

I’ve not heard of the 10 pence short incident, any idea when it was ?

If you google there's an SP&L PH post dated 19 March 2018 about 10 pence short getting a 12 months sentence and a 3 year driving ban. IIRC 10 pence short was active in a Honda or JDM car forum and was involved in a 'drive out' and during that drive out there was in an accident with an oncoming motorcyclist. The motorcyclist had life altering injuries. It seems his postings on Social Media was discussed during his trial. He got a custodial sentence and from that experience he studied law and now works in that field. It sounds really horrible just thinking about it while typing it.

Yes, pretty sure that’s him on the 2015 on R1. That Arai is a fairly recent color way. It seems that he was on that R1 in the accident.
I vaguely remember that post from March 18

That 10penceshort thread has always really stuck with me, and probably changed some of my driving/riding for the better tbf.
