New Bike - BMW CE02

I am sure not many people here's idea of a fun toy, but for me I sold my MX-5 and thought I'd give biking a try...
I purchased this 50 mile CE02 last week and passed my CBT on Tuesday... the aim was something I can take out on a whim in fair weather spend 30 mins just riding around the local urbanish area for a bit of fun. I am a heavier gentleman so the torque was appealing, I don't need it to commute and I am not looking for high speed.
Anyway maybe I will progress on with my DAS if this is fun and I get bitten by the bug.

I'd say a little bit bigger than a Grom. it feels a very accessible size, but not too small. I think its right for me, because it feels substantial and well put together and probably more road presence than the 125cc I did my CBT on.The 55Nm of torque makes it pretty fun up to and around 30... 50 odd comes at a bit of a struggle.

I have several bikes, but I have one of these for work - I work locally from a number of different offices & depots, so this is perfect for the daily commute & flit from base-to-base.
I’d no intention of getting one, but Bowkers offered me one (before they closed down!) on a ridiculously cheap 4 year PCP at just over £50pm. I was laid up in hospital when I got the email & bought it sight unseen to cheer myself up!
It’s definitely bigger than a Grom - it’s really a full-size scooter. They come in two versions - a 50cc equivalent which is aimed at 16 year-olds, with a top speed of 30mph and a 125 equivalent, same as the OP’s and mine, which has a top speed of 62mph. They’re a quality bike, with disk brakes, adjustable rear shock, three different “drive” modes & heated grips.
Acceleration is very brisk from 0-30, so they’re perfect around town, filtering etc. It’s actually hilarious how quickly it launches from a standstill with no clutch & all the torque! They’re quite stiff, but handling in tight turns is very crisp & direct.
The big downside is range. In urban riding, in the highest regen setting, you’ll squeeze 40 miles out of a full charge. If you venture on to faster roads, you’ll be lucky to get 15, but thats not really the point of the bike. It charges from 5% to full at home on a 3-pin plug in 90 minutes for thruppence & I absolutely love it. I’ll make a Youtube about it in the next couple of weeks & post the link in this thread.
It wouldn’t work for me as my only bike, but it’s a perfect little commuter alongside my other bikes. I absolutely love it and even Mrs Local, who is ambivolent at best to my other bikes, thinks it looks cool!
