I am buying a new bike and had a trade in agreed with my old bike. In the meantime I have manage to sell my old bike.

Do I simply tell the supplying dealer and paid what was the agreed trade in in cash?

It’s also a fully cash deal, so I was going to add the trade vale in?

In my head it doesn’t make a difference, but given my buying selling anxiety I thought I would seek advice

Thanks

Sam

I'd imagine they will have based the deal on how much they think they'll get for your bike, which will likely be more than they're giving you for it so you've changed the terms of the deal.

You probably need to speak to them sooner rather than later.

There’s the price of the bike that you are buying.

Since you are no longer trading a bike in then you will simply be paying the cost of your new bike.

Sounds like you are overthinking it. You just pay the price of the bike.

It’s unlikely they gave you a deal on the trade in so you should do ok. If they stiffed you on the trade offer they might be a bit miffed but they will take the cash all day long in the current market.

I am good at overthinking.

Spoke to them and they seemed fine either way and save on picking up my bike, so a win for us both

Generally, they would have based it on profiting from yours. If it's old/undesirable etc though then they may actually be happy about it.
