I love the gas turbine, but two years out? The tesla Roadster might make it by then.

Just seen that a pre-production Ariel Hipercar has been tested by Auotcar, Top Gear & Evo - a 1183bhp, 1550kgs, 0-60 in 2 secs, 0-100 in 4.4, c.£1m EV, 150 mile range - or much further with with optional gas turbine range extender.

I'm sure PH wiill be reviewing it soon.

Yeah it's no looker. Impressive stats, very very impressive, but I think you'd be explaining to everyone that it's not a Smart Roadster with loads of plastic tat glued on.

For those drivers who were devastated that the FK8 Honda Civic Type R was taken off sale too soon, your next car is here:

I'm super-impressed that someone is actually doing the gas turbine range extender approach, pity it looks like a knock-off batmobile.

For a company that has always put so much emphasis and pride in having elegant engineering “on show”, this seems a disappointingly radical departure from that approach, IMO.

It looks like a load of incoherent and disjointed stuff thrown together with zero consideration for the overall finished look.

I love Ariel, but really don’t like this.

Utterly baffling. As if the entire company just got randomly lucky with the first car and this reveals the reality?

That looks like someone tried to describe the Batmobile to a blind man and then asked him to draw it.

It’s certainly, erm, distinctive.
