I am not sure if this as got anything to do with the cold mornings but my car is really struggling to tickover from cold.
It takes a couple of minutes for the car to settle down then its fine.
Can this problem be cured or is it "they all do that".

I cleaned the stepper motor about 6 weeks ago so i presumed it could`nt be that or does it need cleaning regulary.

Mine does this (450 Chim)
Usually very cold mornings with frost. Starts straight away but very lumpy like not all cylinders firing. Lasts about 20seconds and needs gentle reving. Never does this except when cold. Otherwise running smooth so I guess its just due to the temp?

Know what you mean.........It's called the Plenum Chamber.

Cleaning the stepper motor "hole" won't do a whole lot when you eventually (maybe never) take the Plenum Chamber off. The inside of the chamber and trumpets etc, will be coated with unburn fuel/exhaust deposits/contaminated oil etc etc. Cleaning the threads and squirting Carb cleaner will dislodge a little crud next to stepper motor, but nothing much else!!

Hope that supports your suggestion ??
