Back up system for opening the hood?

I installed a mechanical back up system for the boot. Now I'm thinking of adding a system for the front hood, and wondering if there were any ideas out there that people have done. Thanks for the help.

An electrical alternative, solenoid and cable, in case the manual cable fails

I just ran the inner of an old bike brake cable from the lock over the back of the engine and dropped down the pasenger side and secured on the chassis with a tie wrap. Easily accessed if the original cable release breaks.

It's been there since TVR built the car
