I have a 4.0 HC Chimaera and unfortunately the electric windows have stopped working. I have checked all the fuses in the main pannel and they are OK. As both windows stopped working at the same time I assume it is not the motors at fault. Is there a relay or cuircuit breaker that I am missing? or could it be that the vent in front of the window switches, has blown so much hot air onto them that somethings melted?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank goodness I can take the roof off.

Cheers

Just had a look in my owners manual. The window fuse is 30A and the 11th counting from the left. Mines a '96 4.0

Thanks for the reply, I have checked the fuses again and they are OK. I think it must be a problem with the switches or a relay. I cant find anything so it looks like it will be a warranty claim.

Space,
This is unreal, I reply to your post and a few days later my driver's side electric window has packed up. Is this a contagious post?

Anyway I spoke to the guy who looks after my TVR and he suggested I check the connector (blue/black wires) to the motor. I removed the speaker and found the connector lose. Now fitted correctly and alls OK.

Have you made any progress with you problem?

Believe it or not, on Friday I was trying to sort out a problem with alarm siren and now the windows work. I have no idea what the "connection" is but I am happy they are fixed.
