Hit the kerb doing about 30 and took out my front and rear left wheels. (along with the front tyre !!! )

Let me tell you, it looks ugly !!

Does anyone in the Surrey (Camberly) area have a set of Chim wheels for sale? Don't know if it matters, but my car is an "S" Late 98.

Of course this could be the excuse I have been waiting for... a new set of wheels and tyres???

Did the same so mine about 2 years ago. Took the rear tyre off the rim completely, and took fist sized chunks out of both left wheels.

Bad news is I managed to bend both wishbones at the front. These are designed to absorb impacts without passing too much into the chassis, so chances are yours will be bent too.

Worth checking this out before you spend all your cash on flash wheels!

PS If you were head on to the kerb you should be ok - but then you'd be looking for 4 wheels, so I am guessing there was some sideways motion involved here!

Thanks for the info. I limped into Station Hill garage this after noon. They think it's a good idea to check the wishbones and do a geometry check. I looked at the wishbones, and they seem OK but we'll see what they look like on the lift.

Standard Chim 450 wheels. I need a left front and rear, as they are both toast. The rear one is no problem. I am going to hunt for a front one.

Any idea on some wheels that would fit original size, and where to get them? I'll check the exch and mart. I can't check Sprint magazine, as I haven't joined yet. Only had the car for a few months, and that is still on my things to do list.

Cheers

I have a Giallo Fly (Ferrari Yello) Chim 450. It has a navy blue top, but if you see me driving around.. hopefully you won't be able to see the top.

If you do decide to change them all, can I put an offer in for the straight rear wheel?

I got a call from SHG this morning... rear wheels are no longer available either. They are going to loan me two old wheels for the left side while I look for some replacements. Right now I either have to try and find two originals, convert to Griff wheels, or buy something new.

Any ideas on some custom wheels? I would like to stay with original sizes... (not go with the 18 inchers)

I had 2 new ones for mine 2 months ago. Not sure if that means they've stopped making them and mine were old stock -but it wasn't hard to get them.

I went through Dave Batty.

Last year I bought 2 refurbed Chim 5 spokes from the TVR Centre in Arkley - might be worth a go.
