Which Diff?

Bit sad I know, but on re-reading the Griff Bible, decided I need to know what sort of differential I've got on my 1997 Griff. In the Book there's pics and descriptions of a BTR and a GKN. Anyway, I jacked her up for a look. Mmm, it's not a BTR coz theres cooling fins on it, but it doesn't look like the GKN one either as the fins seem to cover the whole diff. Does anyone know what a hydratrak diff looks like as it might be one of those I guess? Pls put me out of my misery!

Did anyone have the car before you? Perhaps they changed it for another make. Or perhaps you're a victim of TVRs tendency to fit whatever they put their hand on first...

Should be a GKN part on that vintage Griff, if so they are now made by Dana Spicer who bought that business from GKN.

It's made even worse as the case design has also changed with fins appearing and dissapearing. Look for some casting marks or name as this is probably the only way to confirm which one.
