You don't have to be a member to go to the meetings, although I would encourage you to joint the club anyway.
Closest to you would be the Northants region, Braefield-on-the-Green, Red Lion, 2nd Thursday of the month typically from about 8:30 onwards. See you there?
Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
Yup, I will copy Peter's sentiments, come along, we're a friendly bunch. Will be meeting next Thursday 11th July.
As for servicing, if you want main dealer then you can't go wrong with TMS up in Melton Mowbray.
I think Peter mentioned a place (non TVR dealer) in MK that does race prep for the Tuscan challenge. I need to check them out.

You can't do any better than buy Steve Heath's book www.tvrbooks.co.uk - I bought a copy a couple of weeks ago and have struggled to put it down. My wife's trying to find a counsellor to separate me from my obsession! You see, at the moment I don't have a Chimaera to go with the book! Not for lack of trying or the cash - I just can't find what I'm looking for. So for the moment I'm cramming so that I'll know exactly what's wrong and have a good idea, when something does go wrong, what I can fix and what's best left to a specialist. Steve's book is very helpful on this and is super value. You won't be disappointed

There is nothing in Northamptonshire, but there is loads of choice around nearby for all requirements.
As well as Adrian Venn, you've got TVR Power in Coventry as well. For great value service, you have Offords independent specialist in Cambridgeshire (from Wooton, go up the A45, turn into Raunds and go via Kimbolton, it's got to be one of the best roads on the planet).
For the expert specialist you have David Geralds about an hour away near Worcestershire, and you have what seems to be by popular concensus one of the best TVR franchises in TMS not far away in Melton Mowbray.
All these garages have awesome roads nearby!
I am in Thrapston if you want to drop by sometime when I am about. I would love to come to the club meet, but I work abroad most of the time (in Argentina at the moment and its damn cold). Should be able to make it some time over the summer.

Well thanks all for the info i have the book by steve heath on order, and i have a strange rumbling at the back end at about 95mph it sounds like a propshaft or driveshaft out of balance a sort of reverberating noise but maybe they all sound like this ,i know it wont be as smooth and quiet like my mondeo but surely they are smooth at speed ,or do they always sound as though all hell has broken loose at high speed ,its ok at 130 but then there is alot of wind noise from the soft top and i cannot hear sod all ,its the first time i have tried one at high speed so maybe its just me .this is a 4.3 chimaera 93 model....ian...
Hey, Northants isn't dead then?
I came along to the meetngs a few times last year but nothing seemed to happen so stopped going when the weather changed.
Can verify TMS are good as I've had all my work over the last 2 years done there (bought it from them too).
Spent a fortune keeping it on the road so far this year and am well
that the weather is so bad.
Hope to see you all on the 11th, subject to getting back from a meeting in the Big Smoke in time.

well i dont think northants is dead yet as i am out in my chimaera all the time but then i dont see any other TVRs on the road and i take it to work at heathrow twice a week just to show it off ,my god dont they go well i dont like driving my mondeo now cos it feels so bloody boring and underpowered .still got the starter motor prob so i am looking for some heat shielding for it and if the sun ever comes out i will be repainting the chassis bit by bit so it looks like new....hope i'm not the only one going to the meeting on thursday at brafield......
