I have recently discovered a fan switch by my right knee in my griff, under the dashboard at the side of the steering column. It has 4 settings and sounds like a fan switch. It makes more noise when I turn it on, but doesn't actually appear to do anything, apart from make noise.

I can't see anything in my handbook, but then there are 4 page missing from it (don't ask).

Can somebody give me a clue please?

Extra cold air fan. Unit in passenger footwell. See Griff bible for the pain involved in removing it when it gets blocked by a stick and smokes...

Of course not, it's part of a Griff's ventilation system! You don't want a great rush of fresh air do you? Use the 'window down' button for that!

Some cars have a switch, some lucky people have the switch attached to a fan, some have nothing at all, depended from what I could make out on the number of teaspoons of Nescafe which had gone into the builders coffee that day.....

So the unit that it runs is in the passenger footwell, assuming that it runs at all.

Does that mean that it only blows air into the passenger footwell, or should I (in theory anyway)also get some benefit from this?

I've only just discovered that the vent for your feet is moveable, and that you can in fact close it. I can finally take off the asbestos socks that I have been wearing.

nope!
the fan is in the drivers footwell right at the back by your tootsies.
the fan has four settings and only supplies that one outlet.
it is blown through the inner wing, as on the other and side but only supplies cold air.

Strange but mine blows air out of the dash vent too? Only the drivers side though?
